DANCE 2 YO RHYTHM
This is a call for all spontaneous dance crews in Gauteng, to partake in a life time opportunity to showcase their talent. Dance 2 Yo Rhythm is looking to find the best dance talent in genres ranging from Pantsula, iSbhujwa, Krump, Hip Hop, Freestyle and Breaking.
The Dance 2 Yo Rhythm project is powered by the Department of Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation with the intended effect of powering the youth through fun mediums like dance and to also highlight safety in these communities by combating teenage pregnancy, underage drinking and drugs in the community.
Auditions will be held in Eersterust, Eldorado Park, Fordsburg, Reiger Park, Rus Ter Vaal and Toekomsrus. Crews will battle it out in the hopes of securing one of six spots in the final round.
Audition dates and venues are as follows:
30th August 2014| Eldorado Park, Johannesburg| Ext. 5 Shoprite Centre
13th September 2014| Fordsburg, Johannesburg| Mint Str. Opp Steers
20th September 2014| Eersterust| Eersterust Plaza, Pretoria
21st September 2014| State Theatre, Pretoria
4th October 2014| Rus Ter Vaal, Sedibeng| Community Hall
11th October 2014| Reiger Park, Ekhurhuleni | Shopping Centre
All dance crews are encouraged to register for auditions closest to them by clicking here
The preliminary rounds will be judged by Vouks (household name in b-boying) and Sello Modiga (internationally acclaimed Pantsula choreographer), both well respected industry players. They will witness Gauteng youth performing and give useful feedback.
The chosen finalists will perform on stage at the dance finals on 13th December 2014| Bassline, Newtown Johannesburg. Winners will walk away with a R20 000 cash prize.
